To recognise R U OK? Day we did things a little differently at McAuley today. To start with there was a picnic lunch on Mawson Oval where we came together as a whole school and sat in the sunshine.
Students were encouraged to ‘Ask R U OK?, listen, encourage action and check back in’.
We were delighted to connect with our neighbours as some Year 6 students visited Townsend House. Our thanks to Steve from their Mad Potter’s Group and his volunteers for planting a sunflower with each student. We learnt about their worm farm full of thousands of happy worms, smelt their worm juice nectar, learnt about the healing properties of lavender and admired their vegie gardens.
Then it was BYO Ukelele for a chance to play under professional musician, Arthur. We are truly grateful for the welcome we receive from Townsend House each visit and give our thanks to Pam their amazing Village Manager.
