We began our Mercy Day celebrations with a whole school mass celebrated by Mons. Ian Dempsey. We were delighted to welcome special guests Sr Mary and Mercy Associates, Mandy Bosson, Jenny O’Brien and Emmy Smyk.
Mercy Day is the anniversary of the opening of the House of Mercy in 1827, by Catherine McAuley, for homeless women and children. They were offered a home, care and an education.
It was a joyous day at McAuley. Funds raised from the Years 5 and 6 stalls will go towards McAuley Community Care and ‘Treasure Boxes’ who care for families in need.
A heartfelt thank you to our families for your engagement in so many different ways to support our community.
