Our policies have been developed to promote clear guidelines and procedures relating to:

  • organisational aspects of McAuley Community School
  • expectations of the school community including staff, parents, caregivers and volunteers
  • the wellbeing and successful development of every learner at our school.

Safe Environments for All

Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) recognise that the safety and wellbeing of your child is your highest priority.

Consistent with CESA, we believe every child has the right to be safe and free from all forms of abuse, including bullying and harassment, and neglect.

Schools are mandated child safe environments with legal policy and procedural requirements for staff and volunteers.

The South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS) requires its schools to implement child safety policies and practices, including child safety education.

Health & Safety

The South Australian Government has updated legislation to smoking and vaping for outdoor areas. Please view the Legislative Changes to smoke and vape free outdoor areas.

Further information can be found through clearingtheair.sa.gov.au.

From 1 March 2024, new laws will ban smoking and vaping in a variety of public outdoor areas in South Australia. Regulations under the South Australian Tobacco and E-Cigarette Products Act 1997 are being introduced to address risks associated with passive tobacco smoking and passive inhalation of e-cigarette aerosol. This will occur through the creation of smoke-free and vape-free areas in the following areas:

  • at early childhood services premises, and education and children’s services facilities (including schools), and within ten (10) metres of their boundaries
